In September a further two dungeons were added with the Waking Flame DLC, before closing out the year in November with a smaller zone in the Deadlands DLC. This year centred around the lands of Blackwood, and its struggles with sitting on the border of Cyrodil and the war that is raging over the Ruby Throne. It's been a great year for The Elder Scrolls Online, with 2021's Gates of Oblivion year-long adventure having now drawn to a close. ![]() ZeniMax Online's previous project - The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited The team has done pretty well in that regard as well, with the game having received five expansion packs and 18 DLC packs to date They have dabbled in other projects on the side, assisting with Doom (2016) and Fallout 76, but The Elder Scrolls Online has remained its primary focus. Since the release of The Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax has focused all of its efforts on keeping the game flourishing. It also meant the game's title was changed to the Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. By the time the game had released on console, the original mandatory subscription model and had been replaced by an optional, premium offering called 'ESO Plus,' which would allow players to access all additional DLC without paying upfront. The Xbox One and PS4 versions wouldn’t actually release until June 9th, 2015. Beta testing would follow in January 2013, before the game debuted on Windows and Mac on April 4th, 2014. Not just multiplayer, though, no, the studios’ whole existence was intertwined with a small MMO game, then called The Elder Scrolls Online. Firor’s experience with Mass Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) such as Dark Age of Camelot would become paramount for his new position with ZeniMax, because the studio was created for one purpose… to add multiplayer to The Elder Scrolls universe.
